Singer Bobby Brown faces his second drunken driving charge this year after a Los Angeles police officer pulled him over in the Studio City community early Wednesday, police said.
The officer smelled "a strong scent of alcohol" when he approached Brown during the Ventura Boulevard traffic stop, prompting a field sobriety test, a police spokesman said.
After the test, Brown was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and booked into a jail, the police spokesman said. He was released on bond about seven hours later, he said.
Brown's representative did not immediately respond to a CNN call for comment.

Brown checked into a "confidential rehabilitation center" in August for treatment "relating to alcohol use," his spokesman said at the time.
Brown, 43, agreed to enter a 90-day alcohol treatment program when he pleaded no contest in Los Angeles County to driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher in April. He also was sentenced to 36 months of probation, according to his attorney, Tiffany Feder.
Brown married Alicia Etheridge, his manager, in a ceremony in Hawaii in June. The couple got engaged in 2010 at a New Edition concert after dating for close to three years. They have a 3-year-old son, Cassius.
He admitted himself to the rehab proram three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico and during a break from the New Edition tour, his spokesman said.
Brown was previously married to the late Whitney Houston, who he divorced in 2007. In addition to Cassius, Brown has one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, from his relationship with Houston, as well as three other children.
Brown has been touring this year with his group New Edition.
The R&B artist released "Masterpiece," his first solo album in 14 years, in June.

Who knows, maybe it was a slight snub towards his daughter Bobbi Kristina, whose family reality show, "The Houstons:On Our Own", premieres tonight at 9pm?

Poor Bobby can't seem to keep from falling off the wagon. Like the ol' church folks would say "Ya'll pray for him"

SMH: Apparently, Lousiana woman LIED about being set on fire.

So, I was all geared up to write a post about this incident. About how in this day and time, in what is supposed to be a post- racial America, travesties such as these are still occurring. But as I'm trolling the Internet, I see that this young woman's claims were false. *Sighs* I'm shaking my head in  disbelief. But as I've been reminded, no matter the race, people are always accusing the opposite race(yes, white people) of  hate crimes. The more I read, it seems as though there is no clear reason for setting herself on fire and her family is now apologizing for her actions

Forensic evidence indicates that a 20-year woman suffering from extensive burns set herself on fire then invented a story about being doused in flammable liquid by three men who she said also wrote the initials KKK and a racial slur on her car, state police said Tuesday.
On Sunday at 8 p.m., Sharmeka Moffitt called 911 from a walking trail in Winnsboro and told authorities she had been doused in flammable liquid by three men wearing white hoodies. She suffered extensive burns on more than half her body and was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport for treatment.
After two days of investigating the case, authorities said Tuesday that the forensic evidence indicates Moffitt set herself on fire. After the news broke about her being set on fire, the news world erupted in criticism of the police force in the city. In a statement issued by Louisiana State Police spokeswoman Lt. Julie Lewis, “The evidence does not support the statement that she was attacked by three males.”
Lewis went on to say that Moffitt’s fingerprints were found on a lighter and lighter fluid recovered from the scene. Investigators also believe Moffitt used toothpaste to draw the KKK initials and racial slur on her vehicle. DNA evidence also points to Moffitt, she said.
