Slight Bumps in the Road: Mishaps Behind the Scenes at 2013 BET Awards

While all of the black elite in entertainment came out on Sunday, June 30 for the 2013 BET awards, there were a couple of misfires behind the scenes.

You may have heard about the alleged punch that Omarosa's mother, Theresa Manigult, gave to Claudia Jordan on the red carpet. Apparently, Omarosa and Claudia are former friends but have been a bit of enemies for a while, with Claudia claiming she felt Omarosa had stabbed her in the back on the Celebrity Apprentice  (which shows how much know because that clearly is not a fav reality show for me.)

Omarosa was also none the less pleased when Claudia posted a picture of Omarosa laying her late fiance's, Michael Clarke Duncan's body to rest on Instagram and with Claudia calling the funeral a press opportunity. Oh.

So, allegedly the two had words or Jordan on the carpet after Omarosa overheard Claudia calling her "stupid bitch" (hey, anything with bitch is fighting words, especially for a black woman). So Momarosa( as she's sometimes called), walked up and punched Claudia in the arm.

Event security stepped in to break up the altercation, but  Claudia is said to have filed a police report, according to TMZ, as did Theresa, in which there are claims Claudia pushed the 65-year-old.

Chile bye. Sounds like ANOTHER press opportunity to me. Way to go ladies.

Meanwhile, B. Scott, a media personality and blogger was asked to tone down her look while being the correspondent for the Style Stage for the 106 and park Pre-Show.

If you know anything about her, she is transgendered but always manages to look super fab, in my opinion. Well, somebody over at BET wasn't feeling her swag.

Scott says all of her wardrobe and such were pre-approved before the show but after interviewing AJ Calloway for her first segment, she was yanked backstage and told her wardrobe "wasn't acceptable."

She was told to pull her hair back, take off her makeup and totally change clothes. She was even already replaced by Adrienne Bailon until someone made calls and put her back on.

I didn't catch the pre-show but from the buzz of twitter and the pictures I was sure that something had been done and that she didn't seem "herself."

So imagine being contacted and approved by a sponsor for a job, who clearly knows what type of person they were dealing with and they tell you when you show up for your gig, "oh that's cute and all, but here's what WE feel comfortable with." Don't contact me then!!!!!!!!! Something about her personality prompted them to contact her in the first place and they tried to make it awkward but SOMEBODY over at BET felt uncomfortable. Tuh. No bueno BET.

BET reportedly knows they screwed up and released a written apology. Well, BET , that's cute and all, but actions CLEARLY speak louder than words.
